The Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) proudly represented the Philippines on the global stage as Chair Angelo Camaya and Board Trustee Weena Ekid took part in the Out & Equal Workplace Summit in Seattle, Washington, the world’s premier gathering on LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion and belonging.

Camaya and Ekid contributed their expertise as panelists in “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges in APAC: The Business Case for LGBTQ+ Inclusion,” where they shared insights on advancing equality, promoting inclusive policies, and fostering safe work environments across the Asia-Pacific region.
Their participation highlighted the Philippines’ growing leadership in workplace diversity and inclusion, demonstrating that Filipino organizations are not only keeping pace with global trends but also setting meaningful examples for others to follow.
“Being part of this panel allowed us to showcase the programs and initiatives that have made a difference in the Philippines and across APAC,” said Camaya. “It’s an opportunity to show how inclusion strengthens workplaces, empowers employees, and drives business success – all while building communities that celebrate authenticity and belonging.”

During the session, Camaya and Ekid highlighted PFIP’s comprehensive programs, including the Pride Summit, LeaderLab, leadership development initiatives, workplace inclusion trainings, and the Rainbow Youth Academy. These initiatives have empowered countless employees, fostered safe and equitable workplaces, and equipped the next generation of LGBTQ+ leaders with the confidence and tools to thrive in their careers and communities.
Ekid reflected on the importance of amplifying Filipino voices in global conversations: “Participation in forums like this demonstrates that inclusion is a shared responsibility across borders. PFIP’s work aligns with global best practices, and sharing our experiences strengthens collaboration that benefits both our local communities and workplaces across the region.”

PFIP’s presence at the Out & Equal Workplace Summit underscores its ongoing commitment to championing workplace inclusion and promoting LGBTQ+ empowerment. By participating in high-profile panels and global discussions, PFIP continues to elevate Filipino leadership on the international stage while reinforcing its mission to create workplaces and communities where everyone can belong and thrive.
“This summit is more than an event – it’s a reminder that every initiative we implement, from leadership programs to youth empowerment, contributes to a larger movement for equality,” Camaya added. “We are proud to bring the Philippine experience to the world and to learn from global leaders who share our vision of inclusive workplaces.”
PFIP’s participation in Out & Equal Workplace Summit is a proud moment for the organization and a milestone for Filipino leadership in advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion internationally – a testament to the power of Filipino voices shaping conversations, inspiring action, and driving meaningful change.
