Our Story

Leaders of the Community

The Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) is a collaborative, voluntary, and non-profit community of practice composed of dedicated representatives from LGBTQ+ employee resource groups and human resource or diversity teams of private firms in the Philippines.

We started with five companies from the banking and financial industry in October 2013 and now have over 100 members from across multiple industries. Our member organizations are some of the largest multinationals in the country, all of whom are proud equal opportunity employers and recognized employers of choice.

Purpose

Leading Voice and Champion of LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion

  • The Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) was founded on a clear conviction: every person – regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex characteristics (SOGIESC) – deserves respect, safety, and equal opportunity in the workplace. What began as a small coalition of advocates has evolved into a movement that challenges norms, shifts mindsets, and ensures LGBTQ+ Filipinos are seen, heard, and valued in every professional space.

Mission

PFIP exists to build inclusive systems, policies, and cultures across industries.
It drives this mission through data-backed and people-centered strategies:

  • The Pride Summit, now Southeast Asia’s largest LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion summit.
  • The Bahaghari Awards, which set the national standard for recognizing

champions of inclusion in the workplace and society.

  • The Philippine Workplace Inclusion Report, establishing the first national baseline on SOGIESC inclusion
  • Continuous partnerships with local and international LGBTQ+ organizations to advance inclusion not only in the workplace but across society.
  • Policy influence across member companies, resulting in gender-neutral restrooms, inclusive healthcare, domestic partner benefits, anti-discrimination policies, and equitable hiring practices
  • Talent & Development programs for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) & LGBTQ+ leaders, mentorship and capacity-building for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) across major employers. PFIP builds the infrastructure for lasting change and helps organizations operationalize it through the PFIP Playbook.

Vision

  • PFIP envisions a nation where workplaces are safe, fair, psychologically safe, and inclusive for all, and where LGBTQ+ individuals feel they belong and thrive without fear or limitation. Its long-term view extends beyond today’s executives to the next generation of leaders through programs like the Rainbow Youth Academy Scholarship Program, which prepares young LGBTQ+ Filipinos to shape industries, communities, and policymaking spaces.
