For many LGBTQ+ students, the path to graduation is more than just meeting academic requirements – it is a journey filled with courage, resilience, and the determination to thrive despite the challenges life can throw their way. The Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) recognizes this journey, and through its Rainbow Youth Academy (RYA), it has created a space where dreams are nurtured, identities are celebrated, and potential unleashed.
Launched as PFIP’s flagship scholarship program, the Rainbow Youth Academy supports near-graduate LGBTQ+ students as they complete their college education. Beyond financial assistance, the program provides mentorship, peer engagement, and access to a vibrant community of leaders and professionals who guide scholars through the challenges of higher education and into life beyond graduation. RYA is built on the values of inclusion, empowerment, and leadership, giving scholars the tools to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.
This year, 30 scholars from across the Philippines have been selected for Cycle 4, representing diverse communities and experiences. PFIP Vice Chair and Rainbow Youth Academy Board Sponsor Ian Fegalan shared in a message to PFIP member companies:
“PFIP is proud to announce the launch of the fourth cycle of the Rainbow Youth Academy, our scholarship program designed to support near-graduate LGBTQ+ students as they complete their college education. This year, we welcome a remarkable new cohort of scholars – young individuals who have shown exceptional dedication, resilience, and the determination to finish their studies despite the challenges many LGBTQ+ students face. Selected through a rigorous screening process, these scholars embody the values of the Academy, and we are honored to support them as they take this important step toward achieving their academic goals.
