The Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) recently held Allyship 101 T3 (Train the Trainer), a learning session aimed at equipping participants to become effective allies and future trainers in their workplaces. The program focused on translating awareness into action, encouraging attendees to actively amplify marginalized voices, challenge biases, and foster inclusive environments.

“This session is all about empowering people to move beyond support and into meaningful allyship,” said Jessley Banas, PFIP Training Specialist. “Through discussions, real-world scenarios, and reflective exercises, participants learned how their actions can create a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard. Importantly, this program aims to produce trainers who are equipped to bring these principles back to their organizations and further inclusion throughout their teams.”
PFIP Vice Chairperson Ian Fegalan emphasized the broader impact of such initiatives. “Building a culture of inclusion requires champions at every level,” he said. “By training participants to be both allies and trainers, we are not just creating awareness—we are equipping individuals to take tangible steps that make workplaces more equitable, supportive, and inclusive for LGBTQ+ employees.”

The Train the Trainer model ensures that the knowledge and skills gained during the session are multiplied, enabling participants to educate their colleagues and encourage actionable allyship in their workplaces. Attendees were guided on practical strategies to foster open dialogue, identify unconscious bias, and champion inclusion in everyday workplace interactions.
Through programs like Allyship 101 T3, PFIP continues to strengthen its advocacy for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion, empowering individuals to drive change and cultivate environments where diversity is not just accepted but celebrated.“Allyship is an ongoing practice,” added Banas. “It’s about showing up consistently, listening actively, and taking deliberate action to make our workplaces welcoming for everyone.”
